CSU company tour as a culinary summer party

CSU in conversation with the skilled trades: State Secretary Carolina Trautner, MdL, visits Metallbau Göppel on Friday, June 22, 2018

The traditional company Metallbau Göppel is known throughout the region and is anything but a conventional locksmith's shop. The CSU from Großaiting was able to see this for themselves during their visit to the company. "It is impressive to see the professionalism with which Metallbau Göppel combines state-of-the-art automation technology with the traditional skills of a craftsman's business," said State Secretary Carolina Trautner, who came to Großaitingen for the visit.

The numerous visitors invited by the CSU were able to get to know the state-of-the-art Trumpf laser cutting machine up close during a live demonstration led by Andreas Dietmayr. "Digitalization presents us trades businesses with new challenges, but also offers enormous opportunities. By investing in this modern system, we are securing jobs and increasing our competitiveness," said owner Armin Göppel at the presentation of his company.

Based in the Großaiting industrial estate and employing around 20 people, the company enjoys a reputation for completing even unusual and particularly demanding orders from the initial concept right through to the end product. This genre includes, for example, the area of hotel furnishings, ranging from bedside tables to chandeliers, produced for hotels throughout Europe.

The ATM business is similarly complex for designers and manufacturers. Bank equipment and security-related accessories can be found throughout Germany.

However, despite all the successes, owner Armin Göppel has repeatedly pointed out that this is only possible with a trained, experienced and motivated team of employees, of whom he is particularly proud. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find interested and committed trainees in the skilled trades. State Secretary Carolina Trautner then promised to work politically to make dual training more attractive again for young people.

Tanja and Peter Müller and their team provided the culinary framework for the subsequent get-together. A special highlight was the "rolling chocolate castle". The seats on the bus were highly coveted and invited visitors to linger and exchange ideas.

All in all, a very informative and successful CSU company evening.
